I just wanted to give another big thank you to everyone that helped with the George Hrab gig last month.
It goes without saying that none of this would have been possible without Geo wanting to come to Ireland. The fact that he did and was the nicest person you could ever hope to meet just was amazing. But as regards the Irish thanks yous, here goes:
There is no way that it could have happened without the courage of Cian from Occam’s barbershopto contact Geo in the first place. His technical wizardry on the night also allowed over sixty (yes, that’s 60!) to watch the gig online via uStream.
Just as I saw the costs rise (along with my blood pressure) at the start of planning this gig, my new heros, Atheist Ireland stepped in to help us with funds for the venture. Many of their members came on the night and I hope they enjoyed the show as much as me!
Exchange Dublinwere wonderful hosts, allowing us to use the space for free. My good friend Seb was an amazing facilitator and provider of cake. I’m delighted to say that not only did the Exchange receive thanks in the form of (more) cake but many of the audience members added to the donation box too.
On the night the generous audience not only brought cake and all sorts of delicious snacks, the generously added to the kitty (which was literally a cat shaped money box!) so that we broke even on the whole event.
So thanks again to George himself (including the wonderful A Kovacs and Ms Information), Atheist Ireland, Occam’s Barbershop, Exchange Dublin and you guys who came along!
